Ocellivision is an IMCB startup creating the future of real-time digital pathology. See our website for details. If you’re interested in one of these internships, please reach out to us at [email protected] or [email protected].
Pre-University
These internships are designed for students enrolled in JC, Polytechnic, or Secondary school (or equivalent). This is your chance to explore different types of engineering and get hands-on experience in a completely new field.
No prior background is required — just curiosity, enthusiasm, and a willingness to learn.
If you’re curious, passionate, and ready to spread your wings, we’re currently looking for:
Mechatronics Engineering (Pre-University)
Design and build robots that interact with the real world. Discover what all that math and physics you’ve been learning can do when you apply it to real problems.
In this role, you’ll:
- Learn the full engineering design process — from brainstorming ideas to testing working prototypes
- Get hands-on experience with mechanical design and electronics
- Work alongside engineers and scientists solving real-world problems
- Build a system that will be used by people long after you’ve graduated.
Depending on the project, you might be working on:
- Designing and fabricating mechanical parts (we have five 3d printers and a 4-axis CNC!)
- Wiring and controlling motors, sensors, and actuators.
- Testing and iterating to make things more reliable and robust.
Here are some projects we have planned; each one spans the whole engineering design process and solves a real and persistent need in our project.
- 🚀 3D Printer with Pellet Extruder – Convert a standard filament printer into a large-format, pellet-fed machine. Learn about printer design, wiring, extrusion, and print tuning — then print giant parts.
- ⚡ Overhead Cable Gantry System – Build a moving cable management system over our workbenches. Design with aluminum extrusion, calculate loads, add exhaust/power/light conduits, and motorize it with a capstan drive.
- 🌬️ Forced-Air Filament Drying Cabinet – Keep filament perfectly dry with a novel dehumidifier base station. Design airtight printed parts, optimize airflow, and integrate sensors and controls for smart operation.
